    Hello everyone!!

I am new here, and could really use some help/advice with my computer. I am running Windows 2000 Professional.

All of the sudden, I've been having extreme problems...I was having issues with svchost.exe crashing all the time, and finally, operating system crashed and I had to re-install. That seemed to fix that problem.

Now, I have pop-up windows showing up every 5 minutes, that continue until my computer gets overloaded. I can't use Outlook Express. My computer is much slower than usual. I don't know what's going on...every technical kind of friend I've asked about this has told me it is a virus, most likely the MS Blaster Worm, but no viruses were found on my system, and I've downloaded all the recommended patches.

Could someone please give me some help or advice how to keep my computer from going crazy? :)

I did the Hijack This! thing, and here is my log:

    you have rapidblaster
As RapidBlaster tends to mutate if the process isn't terminated first, do download and run

    RapidBlaster killer by Javacool: http://www.wilderssecurity.net/downloads/rbkiller.exe

Launch the program and hit the Scan button.
RBKiller will find any RapidBlaster variants on your system, will kill the process, and delete the

Registry Run entry and find the pertaining folder in Program Files, and simply delete it!

    then download AdAware 6 181
Before you scan with AdAware, check for updates of the reference file by using the

    "webupdate".

    Then ........

Make sure the following settings are made and on -------"ON=GREEN"
From main window :Click "Start" then " Activate in-depth scan"

    then......

click "Use custom scanning options>Customize" and have these options on: "Scan within

archives" ,"Scan active processes","Scan registry", "Deep scan registry" ,"Scan my IE Favorites for

banned URL" and "Scan my host-files"

    then.........

go to settings(the gear on top of AdAware)>Tweak>Scanning engine and tick "Unload recognized

processes during scanning" ...........then........"Cleaning engine" and tick "Automaticly try to

unregister objects prior to deletion" and "Let windows remove files in use at next reboot"

then...... click "proceed" to save your settings.

Now to scan it´s just to click the "Scan" button.

When scan is finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it.

    then
Download Spybot - Search & Destroy from http://security.kolla.de

After installing, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.
Next, close all Internet Explorer and OE windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot

remove all it finds that is marked in RED.

then post a new hijackthis log to check what is left

    Hello there...:)

I ran the Rapid Blaster finder, but it didn't locate anything on my system.

Just a little clearing up to do

run hijackthis, tick all below, doublecheck to make sure you haven't missed any, close all browser windows & press fix checked

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MS Updates] C:\DOCUME~1\ALAYNA~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\aupd.exe
    reboot & delete this file

    C:\DOCUME~1\ALAYNA~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\aupd.exe

in fact it's worthwhile selectiong everything in the temp folder & deleting the whole lot. There is never anything in a temp folder that is wanted or needed
