I have had a problem with my laptop for 2 months now and I just can't take it anymore!!!
I have a basic Samsung laptop that runs with Widows 7. I have had this laptop since last summer so almost a whole year. I have a one year warranty. I wanted to know if there is a simple solution to my problem or if I should take it in.
I was using my computer one night a few months ago and it worked COMPLETLY fine. Then I went to sleep and woke up to it not on. I though possibly the charger had unplugged or something, so I attempted to turn it on. It wouldn't work! (The only way,at least that I know of, is with the power button near the keyboard) I have tried holding it down and just simply pressing it. I have also taken out the battery and put it back in. Nothing works! I did notice when i just leave it sitting there open it begins To get slightly warm near the bottom (the memory part) and under the keyboard area, but not At the upper area near the screen. Im Not sure if a specific part broke Or isnt running/starting.

I'm not anywhere near a computer specialist but I was wondering if there Is any key-codes I should try or and methods I should use to attempt to get it to work?
Any sugestions are GREATLY appreciated! :)

Not yet, but we'll figure something out.

do you have a secondary monitor you can use? Or know someone who has an external monitor, standard for a desktop set up? That way we could test to see if the screen quit on you.

When it boots up, do you see lights on the keyboard showing up?

No, just the laptop. It doesn't show anything on the screen at all and nothing lights up. Usually the power button lights up when it turned on. Now,since it won't turn on, the button doesn't light up when I press it.

Are you sure it's plugged in? Could be the power cable could be shot and the battery is toast. Do you have another power cable?

    Also, try another outlet.

If the HD heats up , that means your drive is corrupted or your drive has overheated , even though this happens to me too , i know that the problem is the fan not being active enough . Try doing a drive scan .

if they can't see anything on the screen, going to be a bit hard to do a chkdsk, now, isn't it? :)

We don't know yet that the HD is corrupt. Could be, could also just be a bad monitor......bit too many variables as yet.

If its getting hot near the fan area try blowing the vents with a can of air. Maybe it could be dirty and dusty?

Its been a month since you posted, (I just joined today) - Here are a few things you might want to verify.
    1. Make sure the output voltage on your power supply is what it is suppose to be. (see the label, or look it up online)
    2. If it does not make ANY Beeps, or Any sounds what so ever (Hard Drive spins up, CD ROM Drive spins up (Put a cd in it), Fan... Then you got a problem that will require more than this kind of help.
    3. If you DO hear beeps, then the unit is trying to boot up - now the question is, how far does it go, AND how long does it stay powered up? Do you have Video (of ANY sort)?

    - I trust this person has gone away by now ..

when you switch on your laptop does it shows an y change try to open cd RROM after rpessing the power button if its opened than we can say there is some monitor issue but if it doesn't open it means surely there is a prob in power source because any any case wether HHD or RAM or processor is damaged power is still there so you can try it.

Also there can be a problem in motherboard
