My internet has been extremely sluggish lately and Im worried that it is due to spyware and the sort. I've deleted my temp files and cookies, ran microsoft antispyware several times with minimal results and am now seeking anyone's help.

I also have this problem using search engines such as google or yahoo, whenever I do a search and click on the links to the resulting websites, my internet gets redirected to a completely different site, mostly another search site. However eacb time the redirected website seems to be different, If needed I can compile a list of about 6 redirected websites if that would help.

You may want to print out these instructions for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout

http://downloads.subratam.org/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish. The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

When your system reboots, follow the prompts. Afterwards, Hijack This will launch.

Fix these with HJT – mark them, close IE, click fix checked

At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.

Finally, please post the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt, along with a new Hijack This log.

i downloaded the program and ran it, however after the program starts it gives me a report of what files are missing and such and does not prompt me to restart my computer. I take it that the program did not work.

error report

Check for missing files

End check for missing files
.....
VXD Check
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers]

.....
End vxd check

Spicyice:

When MFDnSC finishes assisting you with your log, you and I need to work on trimming down the startup list in your computer because it has too many unnecessary programs that are loading during startup and running in the background. I count at least 12 of them.(n)

I’d disable this in msconfig

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SP2 Connection Patcher] "C:\Program Files\SP2 Connection Patcher\SP2ConnPatcher.exe" -n=200

Fix these with HJT – mark them, close IE, click fix checked

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

START – RUN – type in %temp% OK - Edit – Select all – File – Delete

Delete everything in the C:\Windows\Temp folder or C:\WINNT\temp

Empty the recycle bin
Boot and post a new log from normal NOT safe mode

Please give feedback on what worked/didn’t work and the current status of your system
