I have been trying to open (open office. org writer) and I get an error message:(
It says either another instance of OpenOffice.org is accessing your personal settings or your personal settings are locked.
Simultaneous access can lead to inconsistencies in your personal settings. Before continuing, you should make sure user'COMPUTER-5ED6C3/CFK User'closes OpenOffice.org on host 'COMPUTER-5ED6C3".
what does this mean? What can I do to make it work? Please help me. I need to use Openoffice writer. asap......................You help is appreciated
I am using windows 2000...................I already went to the add remove programs and I removed it(uninstalled)
then I went and downloaded it again and the same thing happens to me:(

I'm not too familiar with OpenOffice. Have you tried restarting your computer? If not, give that a shot. If it still doesn't work, uninstall the program, restart, then reinstall it. If all else fails, you can restore your computer to right before you installed OpenOffice and give it another shot.

    Good Luck.
