I have an HP running window's 10. I just recently noticed my battery is not charging. The message says plugged in not charging. I don't think it's hardware related but not sure. any suggestions?

Are you able to remove the battery at all ?
I assume although its not charging , the PC is still working and showing its connected to the power
    often a different symbol

also there will be a control so that if the battery is at 95-100% , it will not charge - this extends the life of the battery,by not charging continuously when 100% full

if you remove the power and run on battery for a while, then when you put the power adapter back in does it charge ?

    do you extended warranty ?
it maybe worth discussing with HP- would expect a battery to last longer than 2years , although I know a few do fail 3-4yrs on HP
