I have an older HP Pavilion A1350N pc that I am trying to get to work properly. I plug the power cord into the back and into the wall and it immediately turns on without me pressing the power switch. It happpens every time I try and I have no idea what the problem is.

I forgot to add that upon this happening, the power button becomes unresponsive.

Sounds like the power button may be stuck?
Can you shut it down using the power button?
Hold the power button untill the system shuts down.
If it does not shut down,i would assume the power button is stuck.
I can't imagine that it would have have a power scheme like a laptop?
I have mine set to power up when i open the lid.
I believe you have a desktop though.
Check your power scheme in control panel just in case.
Someone more techy here may be able to help you if neither of these fixes do not work.
    I have no other ideas.

The HP Pavilion Media Center a135on Desktop PC originally came with Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 SP2.
Because of its age (more than 10 years old), HP no longer maintains a support site for it.

When was the last time that desktop was used?
After it starts up, does its Windows operating system load and does it work okay?

It has not been successfully booted in 5 to 10 years. I cannot get a monitor to connect or display anything.

I even unplugged the power button and it STILL turns on automagically as soon as I plug it in. I'm thinking either MB or PS fault but I am not sure. Everything on the MB works fine it just won't shut off.

I seem to have fixed it, albeit I have no idea how.
