Hi guys,
Im wondering if anyone has had this same problem and could give me some idea as to what is going wrong?

For the past month or so we have been using our internet (ADSL) as normal but the upload usage has tripled if not more. We are running Kazaa but file sharing has been disabled, I have Black Ice Defender as my firewall, I have changed my internet password but nothing is helping some days we are uploading 300 MB and I cannot understand how whereas in the past we have never uploaded much more than 300MB in a month!!!

Thank you to anyone that can help.

Layla

go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please copy & paste its contents to the forum.

It will possibly show issues deserving our attention, but most of what it lists will be harmless or

even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Thanks for your reply, I actually ran a couple of ad - aware type programs which both seemed to delete different things and the uploads seem to have stopped. We will see how it goes!

If you're happy Ok, but with that amount being uploaded even occasionally, it sounds like you have a trojan that has taken control of your machine and the scum can & does use you as a pass through to prevent him being traced.

This also leaveds glaring loopholes in your system as he can do whatever he wants with it.

I would still post the Hijackthis log so any signs of a trojan can be checked for
