Whenever I set my mouse pointer speed to a high than default speed, it always manages to reset it self either when I shutdown/reboot. Also It might be happening when I remote desktop to my computer from campus. I;m not positive though. Any ideas as to why it won't stay at the selected speed?

You might start by telling us what mouse hardware/drivers you have, as well as what version of Windows you run.

I'd start by uninstalling all of the special mouse drivers, and doing a fresh install.
