That's actually what's been happening for quite some time. Leaving aside an unsavory economic atmosphere for the moment, the crux of investment (domestic or foreign) not happening, lies in the simple fact that the US are considered politically bankrupt. As in ungoverned and clearly ungovernable.

It didn't take the Supercommittee failing to confirm that but it helped.

General perception from afar is that everything is more about saving one's own sacred bovines and trying to force the other side to sacrifice theirs, than about any even halfway intelligent move towards addressing problems of the economy.

And (I never tire) BOTH sides are equally guilty of it.

Who wants to invest in an area where parameters of factuality are constantly sacrificed on the altars of ideology, power maintenance or achievement? By all sides concerned?

Well, protesting against the banks, even deserving as they are, is a nice distraction.

And, much as this may sound disturbing to some, it doesn't matter a darn who wins the next elections. Not in light of this atrocious situation, if it continues (whoever makes the White House next year).

Oh, if the economy is bad and the big thing that Romney is known for flipping on is made moot then Obama is in dire trouble that is reality ;)

Too true, but 2008 was when most started paying attention.

And don't forget about that third party of Big Business which has bought and pushed our Government since the Bill of Rights was included in the Constitution... We are a Capitalist society, more so with the Citizen's United Ruling, and it all starts there. We have the highest costs in the World for health care and it's mostly because of profits for someone...(n)

(And, they own the media, so try finding any truth in there. )

    Wow, since 1791.
Of course you are, we are.
Well, I'm sure the unions found little to gripe with that one.
per capita you actually have the third highest but no matter. Spain actually got a better rating by WHO but I can assure you that, compared to the US, the public health system is atrocious here. Causing people to go private in part or totally to counter it.

But, irrespective of all this, the US system is expensive. Profits notwithstanding it's mainly expensive due to bad management

So where do you get your truths? The independent huffers and puffers?:p:D

Oh dear, it wouldn't be Faux News, would it?;)

Cain: Confusion has led to drop in support:D
    Posted by
    CNN's Kevin Liptak

(CNN) - Herman Cain ascribed his recent drop in the polls to false sexual harassment allegations and voter confusion about his positions on abortion and foreign policy, saying Sunday that some of his remarks over the past month had been taken out of context.

You don’t have to be an engineer to appreciate this story but it helps !!!!

Received the above in an email this morning.

Applies to many - but politicians in particular - the solutions are simple most time - raise taxes, cut spending, enforce rules and regulations, remove banks too big to fail from dual roles (investing and banking), execute a few CEO's as does China when they are caught breaking financial laws, nationalize domestic oil production, vote out the lobby whores in congress - problem solved.(y)
