Please answer YES or NO.
Details are optional.
But I would love to hear your [hi]story.

I'll go first.
(And, I'll tabulate the entries).

YES.

Allow me to editorialize:

I owned and drove a 1974 R12 gordini, in early 1989.
The leather seats were real. The French architecture was there.
It had a hood scoop, and it was asymmetrical. Typical of
a Renault classic.

Everything about this car felt "unique", in a weird way.
It was wonderful. Better than a Ford Pinto, by far!

It wasn't a race car, but it had a sports car feel to it.
Its 113 Horsepower was enough for this light car.
All 1565 cc could be felt, when I mashed down on the throttle.

But all good things must come to an end.

I had to get rid of it, due to front wheel bearing failure.
The rear axle of a 1967 Volkswagen Van used the same bearing,
or so I thought. So did "Import Motors", of Eureka, California..

Alas, French is off by a little - not much - but enough...
to be neither US nor metric.

But I did get to enjoy the R12 gordini for a little while.
I wish I still had it. But I couldn't get parts for it.
So, off to the scrap yard it went.

Yep, I owned a 1967 Renault back in the day and what I remember most about it was that it needed a front end alignment because I had to steer left to go straight....

I'm green.

If I could afford parts (and I'm a mechanic), I'd still
have a Renault.

Alas, now all I can afford is a GMC Denali.
