Hi to all.Have just come back from 10 days touring Mexico,(nothing wrong with the people!) but are we lucky to live in the USA or Canada!
Anyway back to problems! I would love to STOP the popups that I am getting through Windows messenger! As a last option I decided to uninstall Windows messenger from my computer ( although I would rather leave it in but with NO POPUPS!) but it won't let me do that!
I am hear waiting for your wonderful answers! Bye. Norman

What you have to realise is that these pop ups do not come from the program "windows/MSN messenger" but from an XP/2000 service also confusingly called windows messenger.

This messenger service is inbuilt to win 2000/Xp and intended for system admins to send admin messages to users on a corporate network, it was never intended to be used for internet use, but the spammers found the loophole and here we are

Assuming you are using XP

go to start/run type services.msc and press ok

when services pops up scroll down to messenger and right click on it go to properties and disable press ok and you are done.

this will disable this useless piece of windoze that is only safe to use on a closed corporate network not on the internet
