I know this seems like a pop-up problem, but it's a little bit weird. All of a sudden, there are non-stop advertisements popping up on my computer. They pop up when I am not even on my computer and when I have no web browser open. Some of them are pages and some are just blank windows that say "error:could not connect to server". Occassionally, at the top, they say, "From Internet Speed Monitor". I cannot figure this out; they're seriously popping up right now while I'm typing. My pop-up blocker catches everything that it always caught: like myspace, pop-ups from logging into sites that open in a new window, etc.

    Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

    • Save HJTInstall.exe to your desktop.
    • Doubleclick on the HJTInstall.exe icon on your desktop.
    • By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis .
    • Click on Install.
    • It will create a HijackThis icon on the desktop.
    • Once installed, it will launch Hijackthis.
    • Click on the Do a system scan and save a logfile button. It will scan and the log should open in notepad.
    • Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
    • Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
    • DO NOT have Hijackthis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

    Hey,
A minute ago, this machine went haywire. My keyboard wouldn't work, and a bunch of advertisements were opening. I got everything closed and rebooted. If you fix this, I am buying you a beer; NO EXCEPTIONS!

    Hey,
I followed all of your directions. I pasted the two log files below. Thanks a million. I can't believe the expertise I'm dealing with here. You just made the most complicated process I've ever attempted dealing with technology amazingly simple! I am so totally impressed with this service. If all that worked, I am way pumped. I am now a huge spupporter of what you guys have going here.
    Thanks,(y)
