Popups from "Comcast" and intermittent internet disruptions

Hello,

I've recently been having a lot of problems with internet connection dropping, and have recently noticed a lot of popups coming from Comcast asking me to complete a survey. I don't believe these are legitimate surveys from Comcast. I'm worried that my machine might be affected with Malware.

To add, a month or two ago I had an issue where I completely lost service, and saw that all traffic was being routed to a utopia.net rather than Comcast servers. The only way I was able to fix this was using the hosts file (don't have the ability to update firmware). Not sure if that is related to the popups or means I have Malware. I haven't changed the hosts file back, it still reroutes traffic to utopia.net.

Thanks!
