I have a sony vaio notebook pcg705c with a 150mhz pentium processor. Is it possible to put a different processor in it to speed it up? Or is there another way to make it faster?

Generally, you can't upgrade laptops very much. I doubt you can upgrade the processor. I've never known anyone perform such an upgrade. About the only thing you can upgrade is the hard drive and the memory. You could add things externally with PCMCIA cards and USB devices, but that's about it. I would suggest a memory upgrade. It'll probably be the cheapest upgrade, and it'll likely give you a performance boost.
