power on password

    hi all. i am trying to keep my kid off MY computer.
    i set up a windows password but all they have to do is hit enter and it bypasses the password.
    what did i do wrong? he has his own computer but for some strange and weird reason.....he likes mine.
    how can i keep him off my work computer. i dont want want him changing anything by mistake.

    A power on password is set in the bios. You press del or F2 (not all are the same) when the machine is booting up to get to the bios.
