My computer bought a 300w power supply. today i bought a 350W power supply but the main connector is only 20 pins. and my old power supply used a 24 pin main power suppy, it still owrks but i was wondering if this is safe.
Nope. If your motherboard has a 24pin connector, and your PSU only has 20pins, it's not a good combo. Return the PSU before your computer suffers irreversible damage, and get the proper type of PSU.
The above is correct. The motherboard mfg used the 24pin atx connector for a reason; the board needs the extra power. At the very least you are just asking for problems using a 20pin ps on a 24pin board.
Return the ps and get the correct one. Stay away from the 500W $25 power supplies; they will cause all types of problems.
