    HP Pavillion a6647c Desktop bundle
    product #FK454AA
    processor Pentium E2200
    motherboard MCP73M01H1

When I hit the Power button all fans work, Hard drive starts and a long beep sounds pauses then sounds again, this beeping/pausing continues until I shut down by holding power button.
I have checked Hard drive, Fans,RAM, etc. Its all good but there is no bootup. Just a long intermittent beep and a black screen.
All cables have been tested and OK.
    Monitor works with another computer.
Any ideas as to problem fix.

Been there, done that. There is no explanation for a long beep pause combination.
    Thanks for responding.

I suspect CPU is bad. What steps are needed to replace CPU? I will put in the same type that is in there now. I know how to get the old one out. After cleaning off the Thermal paste and applying new Thermal paste, Should I go ahead and install new CPU the power up ? or are there other steps I must take?

    Please advise.

    Thank You.
