I am using Powerdesk V4.0 as a file manager. Question is that I have a file that is 7,290,024,000 in size (a chess Opening book file) but Powerdesk will only show it as a 4,294,967,295 byte file. Windows explorer shows the correct size as do a few other utils that I have tried. Is it a function of the program - I am mystified. I keep adding to the file each week but it remains the same size in PD4. I am using XP Pro. I will keep using this program as I like is functionality but it just bugs me.

    TIA
    Robert Wilkins

I used PowerDesk three through 5 but, no longer. I don't know about PowerDesk in particular; but, I do know some programs have limitations both in reporting and some in handling files beyond four gigabytes.

If PowerDesk is having trouble reporting the correct file size, I suggest you use caution. In light of this problem, I personally would not use PowerDesk to move or copy files beyond 4 Gigs in size.

You could contact the PowerDesk developer; but, that would probably result only in a suggestion to upgrade.
