When using PowerPoint presentations, we want people to have the handouts version, but without putting the entire presentation at their disposal.

    1. It is difficult to have preprinted copies in advance both because they are cumbersome to carry and, worse, the presentations usually have last minute changes.
    2. Print to file would be a wonderful way to handle this if print to file actually worked for non-techies.

In the best of all worlds, I would like the 6 to a page handouts version of a Powerpoint presentation to be copied into a Word document that I could then forward electronically to attendees. Any idea how to create something workable?

    Yes, its very easy.

You need PDF creation software, many free versions are available such as Primo PDF
Installing the software creates a "printer" available for selection.

Simply selecting the PrimoPDF as the "printer", and printing as normal creates a PDF file of the handouts, very suitable and secure for emailing.
