Preventing Pop-ups

    Okay ... this will surely classify as the dumbest question in some time. I hooked up to the interner via boradband cable. How do I prevent pop-ups ... not the ones you get when you're surfing on the net (I seem to have those covered), but the ones that pop up all the time even when you're not surfing, but downloading from the net. They're usually advertising software to prevet pop-ups! I'm running Norton Internet Security & Tweak XP Pro Pop-up blocker, but still they come ...

    Evening RPT,

    If you are using a firewall, then there should be a setting for preventing them. If you're not using a firewall, and they are essential with a cable hookup, then I suggest that you get one pronto. :)

    I use ads gone 2003 or 4 not sure whcih but it has HELPED tremendously~!! good luck!
