I am having the same problem with 2 of mine! They were both working fine, and I guess there was a power spike or something, because on the same day both of them had the same problem. About 4 days ago, one of them was running and one was not, and they both have the "primary hard disk 0 not found" error. I have swapped with known good drives, checked those drives in other systems (they boot fine) I have tried different jumper arrangements and settings till I am about to pull my hair out!
This is an odd situation for me, and to add to the pot, MY emachines (yeah, I know) T2742 just died....no warning or anything. It just won't power up. The fans wont spin, but the green LED on the motherboard lights up....If anyone can offer any help I would be very grateful, as I am tired of hubby wanting my laptop!!
Thanks in advance!

Hang on I have asked for you to be moved into your own post as no one will answer you here, it just isn't fair to the poster seeking help in this post.
