Hi,
I use XP & a Netgear wireless B.Band Router to network my desktop with the netbook.

The HP printer is connected to the Router with a network cable.

Tried to install the printer drivers on the desktop & netbook but the printer is not found on the network.
Where do I go wrong?

Is either computer connected to the router?

Did you assign a static IP configuration to the printer or is it a dynamic connection? Do you know if the printer and router are communicating? If so, how do you know?

SOLVED thanx all,

1. went here :-http://192.168.0.1/setup.cgi?next_file=start.htm

2. in "Attached Devises" found this:- # IP Address Device Name MAC Address
a) 192.168.0.5 HP00156047D7CC 00:15:60:47[IMG]7:CC

3. 3. as somebody said when installing the drivers instead of search I used the enter ip manually option, & I entered both ip & MAC numbers and it found the printer & printed too.

simple.....chick

It worked on the desktop but not on the netbook ACER Aspire one D255, it does not allow me to type all the MAC numbers, & the iP Nos. alone are not enough to find the printer.

Why is this happening?

SOLVED Again
It was finger trouble, I used the printer's "devise name HP00156047D7CC" & it worked on the Netbook too, it prints via my wireles network.
