I have an HP Deskjet5550 and am operating Windows Vista Ultimate (not by choice). I do a lot of color printing, and the output is far below the quality of the Monitor. I have attempted to upgrade drivers and software, because the internal driver supplied by Windows does not allow for calibration...or at least it is not working. But, HP does not offer any drivers other than what Vista supplies. I tried their diagnostic, but it said all was working fine.

The printer has been very reliable and maintenance free in terms of problems. It is very thrifty on cartridge use as well, and I am not really fond of the idea of getting rid of it. Other than buying a new printer which is compatible with Vista, do I have any options here?

    Thanks in advance,
