Re: Windows XP home edition/Lexmark Z25Z35

    Hi Tech Guys
Just got a new puter with the pre-installed software and as usuall they do not include the power cord for the printer....I go back, they issue me one....I connect run install printer and bingoI get the following message..."Printer cannot communicate with the computer " I've checked the port, several times, to be on "Port USB" like it prompts me too....Any advice would be greatly appreciated, aside from pitching it out the window.

Is it a USB printer? If it is, Uninstall the drivers, unplug the printer's USB cable, reboot. Once Windoze is restarted plugh the USB cable back in and turn on the printer. It should detect a new device connected and prompt you for the drivers.

    Hi RockN,
It detected a new device but after installing with disc everything was back to square one. It goes through the motions of printing without the pop up window stating the "printer does not communicate with computer" this time but still no print...Paper runs through with no print on something I typed in Word Pad.
Decided to take back to circuit city, let them deal with it in person seeing its 2 days old.
    Thank you
