Is this a new printer and you are having differculties installing it, or was it working and now you have a problem? If it is the first have you followed the makers instructions on how to install the printer?

Hello big bear, it was actually a printer given to me from work, i then went on the net to download its driver, it gave me an all-in-one driver of 160 mb! i can find it in prog files. but it the wizard stops half way through installation saying 'printer spool problem' i then got the driver that came with printer and that said 'software already installed'.

    bigbear,

I was having a problem with my printer somewhat like this. software was installed but came up with an RPC Server unavailable. After downloading the link you posted above i then went into the Services and found spooler was turned off. Wondering if Joe H. is having the same problem. When i got into services and right clicked the options were not available. ended up having to left click on the spooler and then hit start up to get to automatic. Might have hit recovery also but dont recall. then went back to control panel and clicked on add a computer and away it went
