Hi all I am emailing you all for my friend. She has an HP office jet All in one printer which works great on vista but, she keeps having problems with solution center popping up all the time saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a cd rom or other removable disc that is not available. Insert the solution center disc and click okay." When she cancels out she gets an error message window pop up that says, " An installation package for the product solution center cannot be found. Try the installation again using a valid copy of the installation package solution center .msi. Click x to get rid of it and then she gets a repeat of both again.

This can happen again and again no matter what.

She did try installing it several times still same problem.

She has Windows vista Basic 32 bit. On Dell desktop.

Any ideas why she is having this problem?.

    Hi,
My brother in law had a similar problem with his HP printer and the only solution that worked for him was to Unplug the printer cable from both the Printer and the Computer, then Reboot the computer and if the message does not go away... Re-Install the software from the CD Before plugging the printer back in, your friend might even get a prompt at some point to Now Plug In her printer.

Hope this helps and good luck.

    Hmm is right,
Has she tried removing the software completely?
If not, give it a go and then go to the HP site and tell her to check for the Most Updated software for her machine, usually the CD drivers are a bit old.
Once done, tell her not to connect the cable until she is prompted to do so.

If your friend has done all of the above and if she hasn't done so already to contact HP directly, I thinks there is a free service for HPs, could be wrong.

Again, best of luck and maybe other members or a Moderator can come along and give your friend more suggestions.
