My windows printer spool service appear to be corrupt. I have a win2k pc and an hplj1000 printer. Every time I attempt to print my cpu time goes to 100% and my computer either slows down or locks. I noticed that If I stop the printer spool service my computer operate normally; less printing of course.
    Any one have suggestions?

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer?
