I have Windows 98SE. I have an HP Apollo P2200 Inkjet. I made a text document in the Windows 2000 Word program and when I clicked "Print" in the File drop down menu box it said :
"There was an error writing to LPT 1 for this printer. Your file waiting to be printed was deleted."
I went into the printers dialog box and pressed "Print a test page." It did. No problem. Why did it print a printer test page but won't print a document?
    Thanks, Jim

Make sure your HP is listed as the default printer. I trust you have rebooted – that seems to fix half of the unusual problems I have printing.

If the simple stuff doesn’t work, install the latest Win98 driver. http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...askId=135&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=27092

Be careful you don’t download the Windows 2000 drivers – I think you have Word 2000 and not “the Windows 2000 Word program”.
