Hello. I am on the Printer Queue in the "Printer Menu." Printer > "Connect" and Printer > "Update Driver" is always grayed out. What is their functionality? How can I enable these options?

    I've attached a screenshot.

    Thank you,
    Brad

Which one of these HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 all-in-one printers do you have?

If you don't know for sure, advise us what the exact serial number on it is.

Also advise us which Windows version(XP, Vista, 7, 8.1, 10) and bit number(32, 64) is running in the computer that it's connected to.

Actually, that was a screenshot of another printer, I just couldn't make one of my own to capture the open menu. I have a Brother MFC-L2710DW series Printer.

    Thanks for clarifying that.
I've used nothing but HP printers and all-in-ones since 1997, so I know nothing about Brother printers.
Someone else here who's familiar with your brand and model will need to help you.
    Good luck.

OK. Thank you. Do you know what those options do on your HP printer?

Thanks. I will look that over when I can. I also noticed that "Connect" enables when I stop the spooler and disables when I restart it.
