Hi all,

Recently me and my dad built a new system. I have set it so that my dad's machine is our print server (we don't use the printer all that often in any case), and both his machine (XP Pro) and my laptop (XP Home) are connected through a wireless router. Both systems can see each other fine, and our firewall program has been set so that both computers are in each others 'Trusted' zones.

With this setup as is, I have to first authenticate my laptop with Admin credentials on his machine before I am able to connect to the printer. Is there any way (besides creating another user on either machine with the same user name and password as the other) to not have to go through this every time?

Thank you in advanced.

Two choices that I know of; you mentioned one, and the other is to use Simple File Sharing on the XP Pro.

I'm not particularly happy with "Simple" File Sharing (I find the standard setup so much more simpler). But I guess them's the breaks if I want to have an automatic printer connection.

Thanks for the info.
