...I've got a shared printer, shared between 5 pc's - 4 of the PC's work fine, one doesn't - when I try to do a test print I get 'Printer properties can not be displayed. The print spooler service is not started.'

I've checked the settings, and it is started, and set to automatic - I've done net stop spooler, and net start spooler, to no avail.

Any ideas, anyone?

What operating systems are working with the printer and which one is not?
Is the printer password protected at all?
Do you have a firewall installed on the one computer?

This kind of error usually means that the computer that is not printing cannot detect the print spooler of the computer where the printer is attached.

Try this:-
Start---Run---Regedit
Navigate to HKey_LocalMachine\system\CurrentControlSet\Services\Spooler
-Highlight Word spooler and on Right hand side look for DependOnService
-Delete DependOnServices and restart the computer.
-If this doesnot resolve that 99% it is firewall issue.
