I have print shop deluxe version 10, have not had any problems until recently. Now when I go to print my business cards it takes quite awhile for the printer to engage to print the cards. Never had that problem before. Emptied temp files, recyle bin and temporary internet files. Really don't know what to do next. On the time out under not selected it says 15 seconds, and transmission retry 45 seconds.

I have an Epson sylus color 440 and am operating under Windows 98 SE. Not sure if any of this matters but thought I would try to cover all bases.

Can anyone out there help me with this dilemma.

you could probably disable 2-way communcation either throught the printer propers or an epson utility. That will speeds things up big time. You can also bypass spooling which would send jobs directly to the printer, which will work fine except for certain circumstances.

Also try to reinstall the printer drivers/software.

thank you for the reply, unfortunately I don't understand how to do any of the things that you suggested. I am a novice when it comes to computers, I just know when this thing does not function like it use to.

If you would be kind enough to explain I would be glad to try it. The printer is not slow when it comes to anything other than the front of the business card that has the graphics. The back side that has the appointment times is a little slower than printing other pages but still passable.

Thanks for any help someone can give me.

Thanks for all your help. Wound up having to remake a business card and then I had no problem. Don't know exactly why this is but it works now. There is only a 10 second delay before the printer kicks in and prints my card.

I appreciate everyones response to my dilemma.
