up until today(4-6-04) my burner was working fine, but now when i try to burn/copy cd's the red light on the burner comes on and then a blue screen or if it does burn, it has distored parts on the cd that was burned. my burner is 52x24x52x. i tried a slower burn but no luck. i even treid 3 different brands of blank cd's but still no luck. i've only had the burner for a about 8 months or so. i even used an air duster to clean it, but still no luck. do you think my laser on the burner is damaged? this is my second burner in about year and the same problem happen with my other burner, but instead i just a got a new burner, but less than a year now, here i'm faced with the same problem. can anyone help me? should i just get another new burner again? i'm using roxio easy cd creator 5. thanks and i look forward forward in hearing any suggestions.

Definitely sounds like it went bad. It should not distort the disks. Check the warranty on it, you may be able to get it replaced under warranty.
