    Here's my sad saga...
My wife's laptop (running ME) used to be able to print on my shared desktop (running XP-Home) printer (Lexmark Z55).
At some point that printing ability stopped. It may have coincided with the installation of the dreaded Norton Internet security. I have since removed the NIS, but still get the audio msg "Problem communicating with the printer".
I have tried to wipe away any trace of Norton and Symantec in the registry.
I have installed Avast on the laptop.
The desktop is running Norton AV and Windows SP2 Firewall, configured to allow file/printer sharing.
From the laptop, I can file share and "see" the printer, which I have re-installed numerous times, to no avail.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
