I have 2 pcs which Im trying to connect over the internet (cable modem)using PCanywhere. I can connect to one as a Host from the other remote with no difficulty, but cannot get a connection the other way around!

Both PCs are running XP and have Norton Firewall installed, and as far as I know, they are set up the same. I have checked IP adresses etc. with "IPCONFIG" & they are set correctly, & tried turning off the firewall but get no response "Unable to attach to specified device"

I think it must be setting(s) somewhere, but not sure where to look (No knowledge of Pings & Ports etc.).

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it, or what I can check out?

Thanks

Just as a test, uninstall and remove any firewall software that is installed. Too many times it is because this is misconfigured. Once you get it working, then you can add them back in again. If things fail, at least you will then know where the problem lies.
