Basically whenever I double-click a drive, say C:, rather than opening as it usually does, a command prompt window opens instead. Does anybody have a similar problem and/or a resolution to this?

Try this, Start > run, enter:

    regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

You should get a response that the dll was successfully registered.

I have run Drive Association fix reg. But it still is the same. When I double click on Folder Open with Dialog appears and asks me to what to use open this drive. And when I right click on the drive The OPTION Open and Explore and written in other language. When I click on those the same Open with dialog appears. In that pop UP I also get a formetting option. Is it a Virus? I got rid of a Virus called W32.Rajump from my system. But unfortunately the problem still persists. Any more suggestions? I have tried the scans of Adware and Spyware and Virus in Safe Mode but I got no positive response. Please reply soon. Thanks

Did you also try the "Folder" association fix? The drive is a "folder" in addition to being a drive.

Go to the Security forum and post an HJT log for the experts to look at.
