    hello
    i have dell vostro 2520, windows 7 ultimate x64

until now i connected to the internet through ADSL lan modem that was connected to my laptop and it worked great

this week i have tried to connect to the internet via wireless network (first time i tried it since i bought the computer last month)

i am able to connect to a wireless network but when i open a browser and try to surf i get this error message on the browser:
Access Denied (policy_denied) Your system policy has denied access to the requested URL.
For assistance, contact your network support team."

tried different browsers (chrome, firefox, IE), and it is the same
tried to connect to different wireless network : same, i am able to connect but not surf

    tried different wireless adapter, same

i have looked it up on the internet and still haven't found any answer..
it happens on every site i am trying to access. (on some threads on the internet people said it happened on certain sites.. but this is not the case)

    firewall is turned OFF

when i try to connect to the internet through modem (lan modem), internet works just fine (with\without firewall) as i mentioned at the beginning

    any ideas?

did the dell come with that version of software ?

sounds like the software has a policy setup to stop internet access
this is not my area of expertise - but have a look at these links
    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3652-local-group-policy-editor-open.html

also if you have the trialware of mcafee on the PC - dell usually comes preinstalled - this may be stopping access

The computer didn't come with version of windows

and one more test i have done:
while i am connected to a wireless network, i get the error message when i try to surf (to any site) however, i can get a ping to that site from :
    cmd=> ping "site-adress" -t
ping is good but there is no access to the site itself through the browsers

i looked at the link you gave me, didn't help me much. i could not find anything there that can help me with this annoying problem
