My sister-in law has had some problems opening up e-mail photos I send her, her computer tells her this:

I'm still not able to download and open the photos you send me. I've tried,
but I keep getting this message telling me that AOL can't open the file
    because it's "too big" ??
Anyway, if you have ANY tips on how to do this. Maybe I'm doing something
wrong in the downloading process. I'm not that computer literate, but trying.

    Any ideas?

    Matt

    Hiya

What is she using to view email? Is it Outlook Express? If it is, you can change the size of the attachement size that is to be downloaded.

Doing this from my memeory, as I'm at work. If its not OE, then can you tell me what it is?

Okay, here goes. Tools | Rules | Mail

In the box that is there, look for a blue highlighted word that says something like 1000kb, or whatever size it is. Just click on it, and increase the value.

I can edit this properly when I get home, or maybe someone else knows.

    Regards

    eddie

sounds like pics are too big

i looked through the aol 'help' info and couldn't find too much (not surprised)

suggest you email her the file size so she can call aol help and see what they can tell her.

    where are the pics from?
if straight from a dig camera, they are likely ~500kb in size, you may need to reduce them before you send them off to her

irfanview - a free image program - can do that for you

    Howdy

Sounds like jbcalg got it right...

If AOL says there to big you'll have to resize them and send them to her again.

What is the file size and extention you are sending her?
