I have tried to create a home group in my Acer Netbook (OS WIndows 8 Pro), that will be used to be connected to my PC (OS Windows 7). When I tried to Join to my netbook Home Group via my PC,after I entered the password, I got a problem "Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration. If anyone know how to fix it, help me please. :) thanks.

You are connecting directly with a cable between the two PCs, right?

In the Network and Sharing Center what is the designation for the network (Public, Home, ...)?

Open a (black) Command Prompt window:
Hold the Windows logo key and press r; in the Run box type cmd and click on OK.

    Type the following command:

    IPCONFIG /ALL

[Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.]

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access.

    You didn't answer:

I'm thinking that it may be "Public," and that may be the real problem, not an invalid IP configuration.
