hello... im in india and use win xp... sp2....

i am just trying to use 3g using the huawei umg1831... earlier i used to use e122 to access 3g and it used to work just great.... well what this usb-modem is supposed to do is... as soon as it is plugged in, it should auto-install the drivers and the dashboard software to connect to the internet.....

    now i have 2 computers

    in computer-1:
as soon as i plug in the modem... it takes me to the add new hardware wizard...

    in computer-2:
it shows that it has installed the driver and my modem is ready to use... but it doesnt install the dashboard.. i tried connecting by using manual settings/connection... but that didnot work......

i contacted the modem vendor and he said that they are facing such issues with xp but on vista and 7 it runs fine.... he advised me to either update my usb drivers or re-install my os to clear the issues.....

i dont wanna format and couldnt find a way to update the drivers for my usb ports..... any kind of help would be really great....

i dont know which heading is right so im posting this same question under 3 headings..... i know im giving mods a bit of work but you may pls delete the post from in-appropriate threads.... sorry & thnx for this...

    thanks a lot in advance!!!

    krishna.
