I have windows XP. I installed one of the automatic updates and right after that my computer won't connect to the internet. I get a message that says try another address, check your internet etc. The internet is still working as it still tells me how many new yahoo messages that I have and I can still use Yahoo instant messanger. I also tried all of the other things listed on the page and nothing works.

Remove all temporary Internet Files (From Tools - Internet Options)
Set all defaults on all tabs

    Close Internet Explorer
Go to control panel add/remove programs then add/remove Windows Components (LHS)

Deselect Internet Explorer then next (or ok)

Go back to add/remove Windows Components and re-select Internet Explorer

    Try again

If you know which update caused the problem remove it in Add/Remove programs, make sure 'Show updates' is ticked at the top.
