Hi, I've tried using several different burning software programs, but they all refuse to burn the music onto my CD (I've also used different CDs, nothing works). There's always an error that pops up before it can finish.

I'm using Nero Express now. Here is a detailed description of the error it gave me:

What speed are you trying to burn at? Try lowering the speed to see if it makes any difference. I usually do not burn faster than 12x speed even though my burner is quite fast because I get crazy errors when I select anything higher.

I always convert my Mp3 music files to wav files prior to burning onto a CD. Wav files seem to play better on a CD that's burnt than MP3's.

I can't imagine why this would be the case, and I've never seen this. Since the MP3 file gets converted before burning in Red Book format, the result should be identical. In my experience, it always has been.

I was convinced that I had my CD writer was broken becuase of errors I was getting when I tried to write with the Roxio program. Then I tried burning CDs with Windows Media Player (which is very easy to do in the latest update) and it worked great. So I think that trying this would be a good control experiement to see if the problem lies within Nero or the burner!

let me know if this helps! :D

I've used Windows Media Player and different versions of Nero. I've also tried different brands of CD-Rs. It still won't burn.

All of the songs have been converted to .wav files so I can play them on the CD player in my car.

It could be simply that your CD-RW drive is defective.

The Nero Burning, I have it to, open up express nero, music, .nav.
Drag and drop your songs on the list, ensure that your disk has enough memory, not playtime, memory.

There is a line graphe type thing that will tell you, ensure it is under/before the yellow line.

Try burning it at 5X or 2X and even try your highest speed just for the fun of it.

how about when you use Nero 6 or 5 and when it gets to 30 % then it freezes and only 3 tracks from the cd you are copying works. the rest just freezes your Windows Media Player 10?

I had a problem burning wavs to CD that I had edited in Sound Forge, if they had place markers left in. I had to delete them all before it would burn.
    How did you convert yours?

If you mean from wave to mp3 and/or so on I use the media player, it edits/changes then automaticly.

I have never had the problem with place markers.
