    Welcome to TSG!
You probably have a program that is conflicting in your startup group during load. Go to safe mode and see if the problem is gone. Restart system and when system starts to boot keep tapping the F8 key until the menu screen appears that shows safemode. Arrow doen to safemode and hit enter. WinME probably take you to the help and support screen with system restore, close that and try you Icon clicking now.

If it is ok the restart system and go to start\run and type in msinfo32 hit enter. Once screen appears click the plus sign next to the software enviroment, then look further down the left pane and click on startup programs. Once the items are listed in the right pane click edit, select all, copy and post back your results
here so we can review them for possible problems.

If problem still persists in safe mode then let us know so we can dig deeper.
    Dave

PS: Did this problem just start or did it occur after some event?

    Try this for me.
Go to start\run type in msconfig hit enter, go to startup tab click and uncheck the lines that have ati associated with them. There is a similiar problem in another thread and have not got an answer back from the person whether it worked. The ati functions are part of you ATI video board and shouldn't have to run in background. See if they are conflicting. If you get into trouble just boot to safe mode and recheck them. However I believe you will not. Make sure you restart to go into selective startup and then try and see if problem is gone.
    Keep us posted.

Allot of the items in your startup group are related to usb items and must remain if you have a USB mouse or keyboard. Here are the items you can safely remove from startup.

    Adaptec CD
    Attuneclientengine
    Delay
    loadqm
    moneyagent
Reality fusion but create a shortcut to desktop from folder.
    Realjukebox
    Real tray

Go to start\run type in msconfig hit enter, then go to the startup group and uncheck the the items I have listed. Click apply click ok and restart system. When system restarts on desktop you will get a message selective startup, click box and click ok.
Now run you system for awhile and see if problem is gone.
If problem still persists let us know and we will dig deeper.
