I cannot get my new HP DC3000 DVD writer to work.
HP Technical Support has already replaced the DVD writer and the software, but the problem persists.

After installing the software, I connect the writer to my computer USB 2.0 and I get a message stating that a problem was encountered installing the new hardware and the new hardware may not work properly (it does't).

I use XP Pro and my computer has a AMD microprocessor. I have the latest driver for my DVD writer. Everything seems normal in Device Manager.

Could the problem be related to the fact that I already have CD writer installed on my computer?

Many thanks
