Hi there,

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on a problem I have. I cannot delete any of my favorite folders in IE, I am also using Firefox as a browser and have no probs in deleting them from its favorite folder but in IE6 it keeps on saying..

" Cannot delete ......... It is being used by another person or program.
Close any problems thatmight still be using the file and try again "

I have tried deleting the actual file in My Computer/Favorite's but still no good. It will not let me and brings up the above message.

I can delete the sub folders but not the original folder. It will not even let me rename them. Please can someone give me a push in the right direction.

Many thanks in advance,
A TSG newbie.

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums

I haven't tried to delete them myself but did you close all open Internet Explorer Windows and try deleting? I imagine IE is what is using them.

Thanks Sekirt, but yes IE is closed but it still says

" Cannot delete ......... It is being used by another person or program.
Close any problems thatmight still be using the file and try again "

Any other suggestions? I hope so its driving me mad not knowing how to fix it
