When I try to click on to the net using the IE icon shortcut on my desktop, the home page opens but does not complete. It will close without showing an error. Then an icon on my desktop will appear. the title of the icon is hs_err_pid412.log. If I go to start and click on Windows update IE completely loads the Windows update page then I can surf the net. I don't understand why this is. How can I fix this problem.
I'm running Windos XP and didn't have this problem until I did the update to IE 6 SP1.
    Any suggestion????????????

This is what the icon reads when I open it.

Right click on your desktop icon & click on Delete (it is corrupted )

Use Find or Search ( whatever XP uses ) & type in internet ( make sure you are in C or where ever you have ie6 ) & press Enter .

You should see Internet Explorer .

Right click on it & select create shortcut & click yes to put it on your desktop .

It appears to be a Sun Java plugin issue.

You might want to query Sun support
