Problem with MSN e-mail

i have windows xp

i have 2 problems.
1 is every time i click on to my msn pal list and check my e mail. i get an error report in a gray dialog box
2. don't know if you can help on this. i have the game then there were none. (agater cristy)
every time i try to do a chaw like inflate a rubber raft. a picture of a gear should appair but it does not and i am stuck in this part of the game till it does,

i have the game then there were none. when a chaw has to be completed a gear appairs such as puting batters in a flachlifht. or needing a shovel to dig a hole(PART OF STORY LINE)you have to right click at least a dozen times or in this event i'm supose to deflate a raft. i've been in the same spot for 4 days and can't advance unless someone can show me a way, to get this thing to work right
