Hi,
I have just put a second harddrive into my computer. I have connected it as slave to my first hardrive.
Now, when i check under "My Computer", where my CDdrives and harddrive is listed, my new harddrive does not show up.
I then checked with the device manager, which i found after clicking on system in the control panel. Here the new drive is listed under disk drives. Clicking on properties it says that it is working properly and that it is currently enabled.
Now, i don't have any idea what i can still do to find my harddrive, maybe someone can help me please!

You need to format the drive in order to use it. What OS are you running?

Did you partition and format the new hard drive?

What operating system are you using?

If you haven't partitioned and formatted, and have Windows XP..
1. Right click on My Computer and select Manage
2. On the left pane of the Management window, select Disk Management
3. All your hard drives will be listed as Disk0, Disk1.. Disk0 should be your original HD and should say Healthy and be blue colored. The new HD will be shown with a black border if it is unformatted.
4. Right click on it and select Create Partition and follow the directions. It will automatically go into formatting.

Once the formatting is done, the border around the disk should turn blue and it should say Healthy.

You should now be able to see the new HD in My Computer.
