Just recently I am having trouble opening my documents folder/or my pictures folder, even double clicking on "My Computer" or "Control Panel" results in all my icons disapearing for a few seconds then the error message "Dr. Watson debugger has detected a problem and will have to close".Then everything just freezes until I reboot. Downloading pictures does the same thing, they copy into the hard drive and when finished the wizard just closes. Everything else is working fine, outlook express, internet, other applications etc. I am running windows xp, microtrend pc-cillin,spybot and pest-patrol. Should I disable Dr. Watson, or is there something else that needs to be done (tweaked). Thanks.

There seems to be a problem with the doctor and SP2. If you look in Task Manager during one of these episodes, you may see 2 Dr. Watson's running---one for the original error and one trying to debug the problem with the first Dr. Watson.

Disabling it seems to solve the problem.
