I've been using WIndows Live Mail under Windows 7 for about a year without problems, but just this aft (~ 5 pm) I'm unable to send or receive EMail messages. I receive the following message every time that I try to send/receive:

The connection to the server has failed.
    Subject 'Anything at all'
    Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
    Protocol: SMTP
    Port: 25
    Secure(SSL): No
    Socket Error: 10060

I formerly used MSFT's Outlook Express (under Windows XP), and was ablel to check the settings for 'Server' and other ports. I see no way to do that for WLM under WIndows 7. Has anyone experienced this problem, and can recommend any steps to debug or correct it?

    Thanks

open your mail account, click the advanced tab and make the SMTP port 587,make sure the authentication for the otgoing server is enabled.close and reopen live mail.

Huggie54. I obviously misspoke in my last message. I should not have mentioned the 'Advanced' tab, since that is only visible when the Properties tab can be accessed, and I can no longer do that.
